Insurance Coverage

AETNA

Materna Lactation is in-network with Aetna. Most Aetna policies cover up to 6 lactation visits, including prenatal visits. It is your responsibility to make sure we are an approved provider with your specific Aetna plan as some plans have coverage and service restrictions. If you and/or your baby are covered by Aetna insurance, we will bill for your services directly with Aetna. You are responsible for the consultation fees if insurance does not cover your fees.

CIGNA

Cigna Insurance: While we participate with CIGNA insurance, we recommend visiting our partner Wildflower’s website to verify your specific coverage before your consultation. If CIGNA insurance is not in our network, we will provide a detailed superbill for you to submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

Required: Cigna only covers services for the parent, which limits visit length. To receive comprehensive care, book both a telehealth visit and an in-person visit. We'll coordinate timing after booking. If your baby has Aetna or, United Healthcare, we can bill both insurances for one extended comprehensive visit. Note this when booking

United Healthcare

United Healthcare Insurance: Materna Lactation is in-network with United Healthcare. Please verify that we are an approved provider under your specific United Healthcare plan, as coverage and service restrictions may apply. If you and your baby are covered by United Healthcare insurance, we will bill them for your services. You are responsible for consultation fees if insurance does not provide coverage, and any out-of-pocket expenses for any infant-related services during subsequent visits.

If you do NOT receive approval from Wildflower, a Super Bill will be provided for you to submit to your health insurance company for potential reimbursement.

Medicaid, WIC discounts - please inquire

Non-insurance visits require payment at the time of the consultation. Cash, checks, and credit cards accepted, including FSA, and HSA cards.

Cancellations less than 24 hours’ notice are subject to a $75 charge.

Home consultations are subject to a $50 Administration Fee.
